Conventions, Kickstarters and Current Projects

It has been a minute since we updated the Drowning Moon Studios blog, so let’s catch up while we take a moment to breathe.

After successfully funding Mage to Order on Kickstarter in February, we’re almost ready to send out softcover books to physical backers. We’ll be closing pre-orders for Mage to Order on July 15th, 2021, so make sure to order your copy while you can. If you do happen to miss the pre-order window, however, you’ll still be able to purchase PDF copies here, on DriveThruRPG and on itch.io. There will also be a small number of softcover copies you can purchase via the Drowning Moon Studios website and via IGDN at select conventions. Once those are gone, they’re gone, and it may be a while before we do another print run for the game.

Instead Drowning Moon Studios is looking toward the future, with a planned Kickstarter for Follow Me Down in October 2021! Follow Me Down is a GM-less tabletop roleplaying game inspired by the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, and Greek mythology. It uses the Powered by the Apocalypse rules engine to tell an intimate story of love and loss for two players. If you’ve been following Drowning Moon Studios projects, you know we’ve been developing this one for a while, and we can’t wait to show you the final product. To whet your appetite, take a look at the ashcan released in June, or follow the pre-launch page on Kickstarter to be notified when the campaign goes live!

In convention-related news, it’s probably prudent to mention that, due to the spread of Covid-19 and the rise of the Delta variant, Drowning Moon Studios currently has no plans to attend any in-person conventions before the end of this year. We will once again participate in GenCon Online in September, however, and our products will be available via specific retailers (see above). We are really hoping it will be safe to attend Metatopia in November, and PAX Unplugged in December, but it’s still very much a “wait and see” situation.

And that’s all the news that’s fit to tell. We look forward to having the chance to play with you again, and hope you’re just as excited as we are about our upcoming games!
